Been a while since my last health update here. The diabetes diet is going ok. I slip up a bit now and again, but i’m learning to avoid those temptations. Past 1-2 weeks, i’ve been sick in other ways. :( I think I had a serious gallstone blockage, causing my liver to fail. I was jaundice for at least a week. I’m staying far away from anything remotely greasy or fatty … getting plenty of sleep in a position that helps matters. Skin and eye colour almost back to normal. Sure is a scary thing though, looking into the mirror and seeing that the whites of your eyes are yellow, with facial tone to match.

Got the family and myself all worried now. That is the worse thing. I did manage to fill out the gobs of paperwork and find all the necessary documentation for my medicare card though. Had a good day on thursday, so I dragged myself into the city to submit it on the fast track. Was lucky enough to get a person who spoke english and she made sure it was all proper. If lucky, I will get card next friday. Worse case, a week later. Being on unemployment (which is due to run out any week now) and also incomprehensibly in debt … I have no choice but to wait for health coverage.

The road ahead is daunting. I already have more blood tests, ECG, and pulmonary xray to do ASAP. After that, I suspect i’ll have a lot of medications to take and more tests. For the gallstone … surgery for removal, a tricky task for someone overweight like me. Hopefully it will be laproscopic … but I fear the stones will be too big. If I make it through that, then will have to assess damage caused by the undiagnosed diabetes. Liver and kidney damage likely, plus i think my keytones are all out of wack (an explanation for my moody behaviour and lack of zest perhaps?) Will have to worry about that later though.

Since yesterday, been fighting a whopper of a cold. Just what I need, eh? lol. As if I wasn’t weak and tired enough … now this. *sigh* Oh well, not much I can do about it but push forward.

OH and to top it all off! My pre-order of civilization 4 didn’t come, had to cancel it as the supplier was unable to tell me when of if it would ship. Couldn’t find it in the stores either. :( That leaves me with more time to sleep I guess!
