I think I posted before that on last friday I had 2 fainting/weakness episodes after brief abdominal pain, Bloody stools the day after. Then all seemed ok on Sunday with normal stool and feeling ok. No such luck. Took shower at 2 pm or so and had another episode, but this time the pain and rest of it did not pass after 20-30 mins like before. Didn’t pass for over a day.

Called ambulance immediately on Sunday of course (had enough of that crap!). Good thing too. By the time they arrived I was white as a sheet, barely able to move and in intense unrelenting pain. Blood pressure was something like 67/29 … and guess what? I have to get myself out to the ambulance because the bed thing doesn’t work down our awkward half flight of stairs and out the door. And the other chair thing they have will take too long. So I gotta walk the length of the house, down the stairs and up into ambulance. I don’t know how I did it, even with aid of walker I lost it halfway, too weak to move another step and could barely see. I almost didn’t I guess, lost it halfway, luckily sister was there with office chair to catch me and wheel me to stairs. Just enough of repose I made it rest of the way out.

Anyway, off to hospital where I get blood transfusions and they are able to stabilize BP with meds after a few hours. Next day or 2 in Intensive care. 2 endoscopy (both clear) and 1 colonoscopy (indeterminant because of black goo everywhere) we still don’t know where the bleed was. But BP stable and feeling a lot better. Only intense pain for a few hours after eating and when passing stools. Guess will have another colonoscopy on Monday after 24hrs starvation and flushing with 4 liters of putrid cleansing solution orally in 4hrs (that’s a glass every 15mins!). Then off to Montreal sometime next ween for an endoscopy that can check in between in the large bowel (swallow camera capsule). hopefully won’t be too late to see where the bleed was and come up with a fix.

In meantime I have this pain in liver/gallbadder hours after eating, but otherwise doing ok now. Up and around and taking shower etc. Sure hope they find something in intestines because bleeding of liver is apparently end stage sign for liver transplant. Don’t want that. Not even tested or on waiting list yet.

Liver enzymes still up all this month in 400+ region, slowly coming down but not fast enough. Started 30mg pred today (I declined the 40! lol. silly, but my body just can’t take it and I know it). Regular specialist doesn’t seem to think it’s liver failure because results of last months biopsy were great. Downgraded damage from borderline 4 to a 3 (no cirrhosis) and no active inflammation. But local doctor says he doesn’t want to wait, hence the pred. hopefully not for long.

Things are dull in hospital, just got computer but can’t use more than few minutes a day. No more money for TV (9$ a day!!!). Sister can’t visit much because she’s got work and kids and hubby and stress … But still manages to bring me some clean clothes every few days though … thankfully. So just starring at walls and harassing nurses. But at least I can walk a ways and shower now, would be intolerable without that.
