I really haven’t been updating this very much. Everything is going OK I guess. I had a small flare up of liver problems a few months ago, but that has cleared up now and have actually been able to lower my medication a bit. Back is still in pretty bad shape in terms of flexibility, but the pain is a lot more manageable. Read More »

My mom sent me this the other day, I’m not sure what it is … but it’s supposed to change (grow) over the next 35 days. Something for you people to look at because I’m too lazy to post. Read More »

I haven’t blogged in a while. Not really sure why. Guess there’s not a heck of a lot going on around here and I’m sick of writing depressing stuff. My back has started to feel better. I can more easily get up and down and walk around also. Haven’t had a back spasm for a couple days … probably due to the muscle relaxants I’ve been taking (albeit sparingly). Robax Platinum - pretty good stuff it seems. You might remember the TV commercials with the rounded wood figurines with pins stuck in their backs. That’s the one. Muscle relaxants aren’t really recommended for people like me with severely compromised liver function. But neither is tylenol or just about anything else these days. When I was in the ER back in late December, Read More »

Just wanted to wish all the friends and family who visit the blog a happy holiday season and a joy-filled new year! Looks like we’re going to have a quiet and restful Christmas here - watch a bunch of movies, play some board games. Just take it easy and relax as bunch as we can. My ebay sale was pretty successful, didn’t make quite enough to buy all the gifts I wanted too, but at least everyone will have a few little things to open on Christmas morning. My Mom came through with some clothes for the kids also … going to wrap those up to keep the kids busy. lol. It’s fun opening presents even if it’s just a shirt inside!
Went to visit my Mom yesterday and had an amazing meal at the “Trois Canards” restaurant in Lac Brome, Quebec (aka Knowlton). Filet minion with pepper sauce and a great assortment of veggies on the side. Was delicious.
Had a nice time just chatting and hanging out with mom … felt good to get out into the outside world too. Make me feel a bit better mentally … and filled up my tummy to boot. Hopefully be able to do another similar outing with some old friends from McGill between xmas and new years. They are coming into town to visit their folks and we’re going to try and go out for supper or something. Should be fun, it’s kinda becoming a yearly tradition. Hope we can keep it going, it’s nice to hear the news from everyone.
Today I’m down with a cold. Felt it coming on yesterday, and it’s in full force today. Runny nose, headache, muscles ache. the whole deal. Let’s hope it passes quickly! cheerio!

It seems as though the holiday season is already upon us! I’m not at all ready for this hustle and bustle! HELP! I don’t plan on buying much again this year. Just a gift for each of the kids if I can manage that. Last year, I got away with some re-gifting and using the stuff in my closet as gifts. Had some good stuff in there. This year, I’m going to try doing something similar … except this time I’m selling as much of my ’stuff’ as I possibly can! I’ve been carting around a whole whack of used video games, CDs, computer parts and accessories, etc - now I’m selling them on eBay!
Check out what I’m selling on my eBay page!

Musical Accompaniment: A long way Home - Supertramp
Well, I had a pretty good day yesterday. The sunshine helped. So did the kids coming back form their fathers in good spirits and all geared up for halloween. Spent most of the evening yesterday watching the kids running around getting their costumes ready. Nick is going as some sort of a bum/tramp/homeless person - unfortunately, he just looks like a dirty kids with holes in his clothing. lol. Sarah has a great costume, a ninja, complete with homemade throwing stars and sword. Kinda sucks that I have to send them out with the neighbours though … my sister won’t be home in time and doesn’t seem to want to do it. And I know I’d only last about 10 houses before I felt like going back home. but I’ll be sure to take and post some pictures.
Anyway, back to the point of the post! Read More »

Got back home on Friday from our trip to Lake Huron, Ontario. Had a good time visiting with family and hanging out at the cottage and on the beach. We had a crew of 7 kids and 5 adults there … many of whom i haven’t seen for 8 -10 years. Kids that were once babies, are now 10 and 12 years old! Was nice to see a second generation of cousins get along so well, even though they barely new each other. Here’s a picture of the family (minus myself - someone had to take the picture!)

Ok, I’m not super proud of myself that I find this little incident so funny, but whatever. It’s hilarious … even if it is a bit pervy and gross. Here’s what happened…
On my way out of town on thursday, I stop by the local Tim Horton’s to pick up a coffee at the drive through. For some unknown reason, I decide to order in english … knowing full well that the person on the other end of the intercomm probably doesn’t know a single word of english. (It’s like 95% french speaking in my town). Anyway … I place my order “large coffee, 1 cream, 2 sugars.” there’s a bit of a pause, then she repeats the order back to me really poorly and slowly. THEN, instead of saying “please advance to the next window” - she says “Please come on the next window”. LOL. (hopefully you are half as twisted as I am and actually get the joke, otherwise, move on!). I totally lost my cool, starting laughing uncontrollably. I feel really perverted for thinking that way, but I just couldn’t help it. lol
Just one of those Quebec moments that I’ll never forget. Read More »
