Terry has a few little ‘wobbles’ but goes out with the same dignity and style that we all would expect from such a classy guy. This mornings farewell show on CHOM was an odd mix of sadness, memories, and goodwill … which is fitting since that is how most of Montreal feels today. Read More »

I really haven’t been updating this very much. Everything is going OK I guess. I had a small flare up of liver problems a few months ago, but that has cleared up now and have actually been able to lower my medication a bit. Back is still in pretty bad shape in terms of flexibility, but the pain is a lot more manageable. Read More »

My domain name expires today and I don’t yet have the money to renew it. So as of tomorrow, peacekeeper.biz will likely become unreachable to everyone. Hopefully, I’ll be able to scrounge up the 9-20$ needed for this and be able to get the domain back before someone else grabs it. Going to take some time though, because I don’t have a CC to pay with, and need to rely on paypal transfer or regular mail, each of which take weeks to go through.
I feel kinda bad about this, but gotta eat and at least pay my car and bankruptcy every month. If I miss any of those, my future is pretty much in the shitter. I’ll never be able to finance another car if I loose this one and Read More »

As a break from the normal depressing B.S. I’ve been posting, I’m going ot spend some time talking about some cool stuff I use day-to-day. Everyone always seems surprised (or confused) when I mention this stuff to them because they’ve never heard of it before. Software I use, Videocasting, Personal video recorder, cool sites on the web … whatever I can think of. Worth checking out I hope.

For the past few months there has been a lot of discord in the household
due to issues related to internet use and misuse. The three ‘adults’ in the household are all heavy internet users - I use the internet for gaming, downloading movies, and web surfing. My sister uses it to keep in touch with family and friends with instant messaging and 2-way webcam communications. The sister’s BF is the biggest problem, he indiscriminately and inconsiderately downloads gobs of crap. All these uses cannot go on at the same time, particularly the file downloading and sharing. I decided to add one of those fancy flash-enabled-picture-viewing-gizmos to the sidebar of the site (it’s located just under the archive list on the right). Added a random assortment of images to it … whatever I could find on my computer in a hurry. Kinda neat, eh? Clicking on an image loads a larger image on Flickr.com (a Yahoo! company now). I’ll eventually switch this over to show some holiday pictures … once I actually have some to show!
Also, does anyone actually use my Digg.com links? I find some pretty interesting stuff and link it here for you all to follow. Go make an account on digg.com already - if you don’t, you’ll be left behind in this new wave of communication and social bookmarking that is sweeping the internet. Read More »

I recently stumbled upon this site Minature Earth and it really helps put life in perspective. Visit the site and let me know what you think.
I’m one of those people that is always outraged by these world facts, but I’ve never really been able to propel myself into activism. It’s too difficult to find an organization to work for and it’s difficult to be outgoing enough to approach them if you do. That, and most organizations are religion-based - I don’t agree with any of these religions and their motives, so I’m SOL I guess. I, like many average people I suspect, try to bring up these kinds of things in normal conversation and particularly in arguments where people feel they are somehow being mistreated because everything isn’t handed to the on a silver platter.
Anyway, I’d like to find some place to volunteer or work where I can work on some activism relating to poverty, world economics, and political movements. Read More »

I added a listing of the top stories I ‘dugg’ on the social bookmarking and technology site, digg.com. You should be able to see them on the lower right panel of the blog. It doesn’t always show up, presumably because of the site’s popularity. So I put a link to my profile there also.
If you haven’t checked out digg.com yet, please do. It’s one of the hottest sites on the web right now. Find an article you like, and post it there to share with everyone. Popular posts make it to the front page. Some cool stuff there … but the site is in need of better content to suppress the junk that some people post. So please contribute! You can also search for a topic you are interested in and digg those stories. Lots of cool stuff gets posted, and then buried because no one clicks on it. It’s a shame.
